Lively Civic Review

Write for us

Lively Civic Review welcomes pitches that make an aspect of civic life clearer: a public place, institution, form of participation, shared decision or revealing piece of civic history.

What makes a good pitch

Propose one focused subject and explain the question an article would answer, why a general reader might care and what fresh angle you would bring. A strong pitch has a clear scope, uses terms readers can understand and does not depend on unsupported claims or private information.

Useful contributions

We welcome explanatory articles, comparisons, historical context and carefully framed accounts of how civic ideas work. Keep claims proportionate, distinguish general principles from local variation and explain what readers should not infer from the piece.

How to send a proposal

Send pitches through the Contact page and select the editorial question option. Include a short outline and any relevant writing samples or source notes in your message; a completed article is not required for an initial proposal.
